I stopped wearing it before we were divorced. He never wore his in the first place.
I took mine off the day I found out he cheated on me… 2 months after I came home from the hospital. Let me explain…
I went into the hospital with an STD "from the other woman" that he gave me… that morphed into meningitis. After I got well, my doctor told me what I had – and told me the only way I could have contracted it was sexually. Since I knew I HADN’T CHEATED, I quickly figured out who gave it to me.
I took off the ring, never replaced it and filed for divorce the next day. I gave it to a friend who melted it down and made a drop necklace from the gold and the stone.
.I stopped wearing mine when we separated…the symbol no longer had any meaning. I rarely wear rings on that finger (anymore) so it won’t be assumed I am married. I’ve often worn rings on other fingers and still do.
Some pull it off when they split (I did), the day of the divorce and some when they want to find another companion. There are no set rules. I know one guy that wears his to this day and he has been divorced 8 years.
I stopped wearing my wedding ring when I felt that there was no hope of reconciling the relationship. For some people, that may be during the process of divorce and for others, it may be years after the divorce. What was right for me may not be right for you. As long as you are still committed to the relationship, wear the ring. For me, once the marriage covenant was broken, the ring lost its meaning.
I took mine off a long time before, as she proved to me it was over. But anytime you feel comfortable. There is no owner’s manual for this, so what ever you think is fine.
I have mine around my neck and my wife pawned her 3ct diamond ring..
the divorce is pending and I haven’t worn it in 2 years. It felt like a lie since he is a selfish contempt filled jerk.
I might have it made into a mother’s ring. My son is the only good thing about being married for so long.

I stopped wearing my ring when I got separated. I carried it around in my wallet for years, though, even when I was divorced. I threw it away when I got remarried (it wasn’t valuable–not a diamond or anything.)
I’d stop wearing it. Or I might turn the stone into a pendant.
I never wore mine much to begin with, but I stopped the day I moved out. Once in a while I’d put it on my right hand or if I wanted to keep the men away I’d wear it. I eventually just sold it to a jeweler.
When you pawn it. When you feel it’s giving bad information. When you don’t like seeing it on your finger. No rules.
