We separated due to a terrible physical confrontation and he asked me to go to counselling with him. At this point I didn't want to go but knew that this would look bad if ever there were a custody battle for our son. So I went and he has gradually improved over the years but some things that were painfull still are and some things never change. You can't change your partner you can only change your reaction to them. He has to want it as bad as you do. For me it was a God thing. God led us to that point and has carried us on to this one.
