House is the only thing stopping my divorce… What to do?

The only reason I haven’t filed for divorce yet is because I can’t afford to pay a house payment and rent an apartment. I can’t announce my intent to get divorced and live together. My view is things cannot be fixed. I thought I would just move and let her put the house on the market. We won’t make any money since we just got it. I thought I would move and just let it go into forclosure and if nessecary file for bankruptcy.

Help.

Can one of you stay in the house and then maybe rent out a room or two and that should help pay the mortgage.

Got in over your head? Many couples stay together for 50 years rather than deal with this sort of thing. They can learn to get along.

You should not have to endure a rent and a mortgage. Stay in the house until it gets sold, split whatever little bit you get or at the least get out clean and then get an apartment. If you get an apartment first, it could be many months before the house is sold and you could lose it if you cant afford to pay both.

    Sell the house!

SHE wont go into foreclosure because it was purchased by the MARRIED COUPLE! SO foreclosure is against both of you and bankruptcy will be against both of you!

    SELL THE HOUSE!

OR how about you work on the marriage and keep the house?

If you can’t go forward at least grow the balls to tell her and work out what you need to. There is always a choice, you may not always llike it but, suck it up and start making things happen…

don’t ruin your credit just because you can’t find a way out of this.. Take it one day at a time- See if you can use a rental company to rent it out for you- if you are able to re-finance it that would be the best thing to do to help lower the payments.

Can you try to sell it while living there then file for the divorce??? Can she work and get an apartment and pay for it herself?? Depending on her ability to work she might be court ordered to become employed and sustain responsibility of an apartment. Check into it, and get a consultation from an attorney before making any decisions. Good Luck…

I know things look bad but ask your lawyer for another solution. My soon to be ex drove us into bankruptcy once and it ruined our credit for ten years. I managed to finally gain an A rating again but it took ten long years. See if there are friends or family you can move in with for awhile. Let her sell the house and get what you can. Best of luck with this. If the divorce is going to happen then let it. Don’t make your lives miserable.
