I’ve been brought up in a good, christian home and I have wonderful morals. One is to wait to have sex until I am married because I believe that True Love Waits and God wants us to wait. However, everyone I know has had sex (I’m 17 btw). I don’t understand why people give it up so easily. But when all my friends are talking about it I feel like a left out loser because I’m still a virgin. I want to wait but it makes it much tougher when all of your friends have given it up.
How do I not feel like a loser by not having sex? Or is it my friends’ stupidity for giving it up so young? I just wonder if they are even really in love or if it’s more of an infatuation thing.

In my opinion I think you should still wait until marriage. Your fist time should be special and with the guy you truely love and want to be with for the rest of your life. Just cause everyone is doing it now a days doesn’t mean you have to do it too. Don’t try to follow the crowd. I know a lot of teenage girls that had sex before marriage and they end up hurt and regreting, but you are doing the best decision.
I`m Catholic and I have the same morals as you. The more that I think about it, waiting for marriage totally makes sense. You`ll never have to worry about getting pregnant and dumped, you won`t have sexual diseases, and you won`t have to worry about being heart broken when someone sleeps with you once, and then moves on to someone else.
You are doing the right thing. In the end when you get married, you will not regret what you did. You need to think ahead to that day. DO NOT EVER DO WHAT OTHER KIDS ARE DOING! Everyone else gets high, parties, and drinks, and guess what they will go nowhere in life with that behavior. Not having sex before you get married is the smartest decision you will ever make.
Once a guy sleeps with you, he already got what he wanted so he has no reason to stay with you. You don`t want to be around people like that. You need to find someone that was raised the same way you are, that will respect you, and has the same morals as you. Think about what God would want you to do, if that isn`t enough to stop you, then nothing will be. In the end God wants what`s best for us, and waiting is what`s best.
You can hold your head up high knowing that you did the right thing. Don`t ever have sex to fit in or look cool. The other kids will regret it later on in life, and you won`t. You are not a loser, don`t ever think that. Be thankful you have parents that raised you the right way.
So many kids just have sex because they want to have something to brag about, or they want to feel loved by someone. It`s not the right path to go down. Hope I helped. Stay smart and do the right thing.

It’s definitely your friends. When I was 18 I remember a girl encouragaging me to wait because she regretted not having that gift to give her husband. I’m sure I looked at her like a cow at a new gate, but at 36 I now get what she meant. I can’t tell you how to not feel bad around your friends, except to find other friends with your values. Virginity….the one thing you can never get back.
I knoe exactly how you feel. I’m 16 and all my friends have had sex and I haven’t. I have a boyfriend and I haven’t had sex with him. The best thing I can tell you is that you aren’t alone. There are those of us out there with the same ideas as you have. I believe true love waits and sex should be saved for the person you want to spend the rest of your life with. People talk about all the time how sex is so great and how wonderful it is. But, if you ask adults, they will tell you, the first few times isn’t as grand and amazing and our teenage friends lead it to be. Just keep strong to your morals and know that you aren’t alone. Good on you for sticking to your beliefs! I might live in Australia but i too am Christian and i did wait. You are not alone. I feel sad for your friends because even though it doesn’t seem like it now years later they may just regret their decision.

Not a loser. Let’s say i waited beyond 20 years old. Your friends i think are stupid for giving up a part of themselves that they will never get back.
