I was hurt very badly in the past. I fell deeply in love with someone, and it ended badly. It seems like everyone gets divorced, or multiple divorces these days. I’m just afraid of one day trusting someone again, and it ending badly. I just could use some advice. I feel so cynical but I don’t want to be this way.

Well when you’ve been hurt of course you become cynical and wary of people.
But that’s no way to live. Each time you love someone you’re taking a chance. That’s just the way it is.
I guess this is the reason why you are still single because you fear so much to get hurt again.i know how it feels because i gueess we all someway or the other went through a heartbreak but then this doesnt prevent us from loiving back again,right?
i mean until you bear these thoughts ,any relationship you’ll be proposed to go into wont really work because you are not lettin go.you are still so afraid of getting so hurt that you wont really be able to live fully the beauty of a new relationship.and i also believe that the more you think about all these the more it tends to happen.so please be positive and just let yourself go a bit.there will always be a someone who gonna make you change your opinions about all these.just wait for that someone and im sure things will work wonders

I have been in your shoes and walked the road you just passed. We all get our hearts broken one time or another and sometimes they are worse than we deserve… Trust me, the things that I have been through would give you a whole new prospective on "heart break" or something "ending badly". My first parents divorced, which I actually consider a blessing. My father remarried a wonderful woman and that marriage is going strong.
I too, am afraid of divorce. I don’t want to go through it. The pain, money, time, suffering and everything else that is attached to it. But the truth is, not everything always works out. But just because bad things could happen, doesn’t mean that you have to avoid the whole situation all together. People get in car accidents every day, but that doesn’t stop you from driving now does it?
Divorce happens, but don’t base your possible future on statistics. What you need to do is just find a man who treats you right and loves you for who you are and you to him. Then get married and do whatever it takes to make it work. What people don’t realize is that marriage is work and there are many ups and downs to marriage. Most of those couples punk out once they hit their first Mountain. Set yourself apart from the rest. You are not a statistic. Work at your marriage – it will turn out just fine!
I don’t blame you for being cynical, but try, try, try to be hopeful that eventually you will meet the right person. Try to be open to the possibility. Someday a good person could come into your life, but if you remain locked in the past, this individual could end up unfairly paying for the sins of your previous relationships. I suggest you take the positive path and learn from your experiences and you will be all the wiser for the ones that come along. I wish you the best.
Take time afew years before you even consider marriage again in your life. Relax and enjoy your friends and work. Don’t push yourself into anything right now with men.
